Bill Kimball represents individuals in the Bay Area and across the country in complex criminal, civil, or regulatory investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, and other federal and state government entities. He also frequently represents individuals, or groups of individuals, in internal corporate investigations, with particular expertise in matters involving financial reporting fraud and the federal securities laws. He is dedicated to providing the highest level of legal representation to his clients while offering them the cost-effectiveness of a small practice.
Mr. Kimball is one of only a handful of lawyers with both investigation and trial experience for the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice, where he served as one of the first members of the DOJ’s Enron Task Force. His judgment, skills, and effectiveness have been developed and tested by more than three decades of experience. His expertise and credibility with government officials have earned him a national reputation as a trusted counselor and powerful advocate who consistently obtains outstanding results for his clients.
As a litigation partner at a leading, global law firm, Mr. Kimball successfully defended Fortune 500 companies and their executives in government investigations and conducted internal investigations for the boards of public and private companies. As a government lawyer, he prosecuted, investigated, or supervised virtually every type of criminal and civil securities violation. He now brings this experience and expertise to bear with individual clients in his own practice.
Mr. Kimball works to provide a level of client service and legal representation exceeding that of large law firms at a significantly lower cost. He is committed to responding to clients’ specific needs, always remaining accessible to them, and collaborating closely with them to formulate a cost-effective legal strategy that provides the best possible chance to achieve a favorable outcome.
